Thermomix Stir-Fried Baby French Beans & Carrots


Ingredients:

1. 400gm baby french beans (cut into 2cm length)
2. 2 medium sized carrots (outer layer peeled and cut into fine thin strips and 2cm in length)
3. Sea-salt
4. Sunflower oil
5. 2 cloves garlic

1. Place the garlic into the TMX jug. Cover lid AND MC and set 5seconds/Speed 4 Reverse.

2. Remove the garlic skin.

3. Pour some sunflower oil into the jug. Cover the lid and MC and set 1min/100C/Reverse spoon.

4. Then add the french beans and carrots. Season with the sea-salt.

5. Set 6mins/110C/Reverse spoon.

6. (*If you find that the vegetables are not soft enough, add another minute.)

7. Pour onto serving dish. Serve hot with rice or eat it on its own.

Grilled Maple Syrup Chicken Fried Rice


Ingredients:

1. Maple syrup grilled chicken (Refer to LINK for recipe)
2. 2 carrots (cut into tiny cubes)
3. 4 cups of cooked rice
4. Spring onion (only the dark green part) (cut finely)
5. 3 teaspoon of cooking oil
6. Sea-salt
7. White pepper (optional)

------------------------------------------

1. Heat up a wok on medium-high heat.

2. Add the cooking oil.

3. Add the carrots and stir-fry until they are slightly softened.

4. Add the maple syrup grilled chicken pieces and rice.

5. Add the sea-salt (and white pepper - optional).

6. Mix all of the ingredients together.

7. Lastly, sprinkle the spring onion and stir-fry for 1 minute.

8. Scoop up onto serving dish.

9. Serve hot.

Thermomix Steamed Wrapped Chicken Balls in Chinese Cabbage


Ingredients:

1. 500gm of minced chicken
- seasoned with sea-salt, white pepper (optional), chopped carrots, fresh mushrooms (optional), cooking oil, cornstarch (you can use potato starch)
2. Chinese cabbage (wash the leaves and set aside to dry)
3. Toothpicks

1. Fill the TMX jug to the number 2 mark.

2. Place the TMX jug onto the machine. Place cover and MC.

3. Set 30 minutes/100C/Speed 2.

4. Each chicken ball should be about 1.5 inches in size. Wrap each chicken ball with a cabbage leaf and stick a toothpick through it to hold it in place.

5. Place the chicken balls on the Varoma tray.


6. Once the temperature reaches 100C, remove the MC and place the Varoma tray on the TMX jug. Cover the Varoma tray.

7. Allow it to steam for about 15 minutes.

8. Once it is cooked, remove the balls and place new ones and continue steaming until all are cooked.

9. Serve them hot with soup or rice.

I did not have enough cabbage leaves. I steamed them on their own. It was delicious too!

A Fiery CNY Eve Lunch!

A very Happy Fiery Monkey Chinese New Year to all my Chinese fellow bloggers and readers.

Here was what we had for our reunion meal.

Steamed fish.
Thermomix stir-fried choy sum with carrots and prawns.

Steamed beancurd with minced pork (Yong Tau Foo).

Curry potato and pork.

Steamed okra with minced pork (Yong Tau Foo).

Steamed bittergourd with minced pork (Yong Tau Foo).

Double boiled bone broth with lotus root.

Steamed chicken.

And brownies for dessert!

Stir-Fried Garlic Chicken with Celery & Carrots

Ingredients:

1. 1 chicken breast (cut into small pieces - seasoned with sea-salt and garlic)
2. 3 celery sticks (peeled and cut into french fry size)
3. 2 carrots (outer layer peeled and cut into thin strips around the same size as the celery)
4. 5 garlic bulbs
5. Sunflower oil
6. Sea-salt

------------------------------------------

1. Heat up a wok.

2. Drizzle some sunflower oil into the wok.

3. Add the garlic bulbs and stir fry until fragrant.

4. Add the chicken, celery and carrots and a dash of sea-salt and stir fry until the chicken is cooked and the vegetables have softened.

5. Scoop up onto serving dish and serve hot with rice.

Vegetarian Fried Rice

Ingredients:

1. 4 cups of cooked white rice (cooked, kept in freezer overnight and thawed the next day)
2. 3 large eggs (beaten)
3. 200gm of french beans (sliced into small pieces)
4. 2 medium sized carrots (peeled and cut into small square cubes)
5. 1 bulb of garlic (sliced into thin pieces)
6. Sea-salt
7. Sunflower oil

-------------------------------------------

1. Heat up a wok.

2. Add about three tablespoons of sunflower oil into the heated wok.

3. Once the oil is heated up, add the sliced garlic and suit fry until it is slightly browned.

4. Add the french beans and carrots and stir fry until they are softened. 

5. Add the rice and some sea-salt. 

6. Pour the beaten eggs over the rice.

7. Stir fry until eggs are cooked and well blended with the fried rice.

8. Scoop up onto serving dish and serve hot.
